Stoneyfield Farm Yogurt is officially GF

Local NH business Stoneyfield Farm just announced that their yogurts are officially GF. Got this news in my inbox this morning. I love their products, and I love the fact that they’re certified GF now!

“Nothing in the recipe has changed, the majority of Stonyfield Farm’s products have always been gluten-free, and now it’s official. The Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO) has certified many of Stonyfield Farm products gluten-free.

“It’s a certification that we welcome,” says Stonyfield Farm President and CE-Yo Gary Hirshberg. “Now our consumers with gluten intolerance (celiac disease) can enjoy these foods without worry. The next step is to get the rest of our products certified as well.”

The GFCO certification includes the following Stonyfield Farm products*:

– 6 oz. Fat Free, Low Fat, and Whole Milk Organic Yogurt cups (all flavors)

– 32 oz. Fat Free, Low Fat, and Whole Milk Organic Yogurt quarts (all flavors)

– 4 oz. Fat Free Organic Yogurt cups (all flavors)

– 4 oz. YoBaby Organic Yogurt cups (except for YoBaby Plus Fruit & Cereal)

-- 6 oz. YoBaby Organic Drinkable Yogurts (all flavors)
-- 10 oz. & 6 oz. Low Fat Organic Yogurt Smoothies (all flavors)
    -- 4 oz. & 6 oz. O'Soy Soy-Yogurt cups (all flavors)
-- 4 oz. YoMommy Low Fat Organic Yogurt cups (all flavors)
-- 4 oz. YoKids Low Fat Organic Yogurt cups (all flavors)

GFCO reviewed Stonyfield Farm recipes, ingredients, and testing procedures, and conducted a thorough on-site inspection before certifying Stonyfield products. GFCO also has the right to perform future, unannounced inspections.”

Outback Steak House- Locations in NH, MA, ME

Outback is one of the few chains out there that has taken the time to address the gluten free lifestyle, and I am so happy they have! They worked with GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group) to design a dedicated GF menu and to learned about GF ingredients and food preparation (including cross contamination)

Their entire GF menu can be viewed online here. I’m a HUMONGOUS fan of their Baby Back Ribs…the bbq sauce is incredible!!!

Whole Foods Market – Portland, Maine

Whole Foods Market – 2 Somerset Street – Portland, Maine (207) 774-7711

Whole Foods is a foodies paradise, especially for gluten free food. This high end supermarket chain houses loads of gluten free brands and the staff is very knowledgeable about their product lines. Best of all, they have a freezer section that stocks shelves and shelves of delicious frozen gluten free baked goods. Breads, cakes, cookies, scones, muffins all made with love in their dedicated Gluten Free bakehouse in MD. My freezer always has at least one loaf of their Prairie Bread in it!

While the prices might be a bit on the high side, the convenience of getting most of your staple GF foods in one place is a god send.

Think of me as your GF Zagat guide!

I figured that since I work in the e-commerce space, I was well past due to try my hand at blogging. Many nights were spending wracking my brain for subjects to write about. One very night, over the grumble of my stomach, it struck me….why not write about my gluten free life in New Hampshire. Having followed the Celiac Chick’s site for many years, I know full and well how important it is to capture places to dine and shop that support a gluten free lifestyle.

So here begins my journey…I hope to provide honest and exciting information to my fellow Celiacs in New Hampshire, and to those who plan to visit our beautiful state. I encourage you to contact me if you have questions on any of the stores or restaurants that I mention. Here’s to good GF eats in the Granite state!
